Workshop Overview

With the workplace becoming more and more multicultural and communities becoming more and more diverse, understanding cultural differences and learning how to effectively interact with people from a multitude of backgrounds is imperative for today’s business professional! As a result of attending this action-packed workshop, you will learn effective practices for communicating across cultures and building successful multicultural teams. By examining differences in behaviors, values, attitudes, and beliefs across cultures, this workshop is designed to provide you with an understanding of how culture impacts organizations and employees. Cultural differences pertaining to the way people view time, rules, relationships, self-reliance, hierarchy, and the future will be explored. By focusing on cultures across Asia, Africa, Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America, you will be better equipped to adapt to cultural differences and build highly effective workplace relationships!

Through an interactive, hands-on approach to learning, you will explore differences across cultures and how those differences impact the workplace. Training topics include:

  • Exploring Cultural Values, Beliefs, Attitudes, and Behaviors
  • Cultural Stereotypes: Do We Need Them?
  • Self-Awareness: How Has Our Culture Shaped Us?
  • Examining Our Cultural Differences and What They Mean
  • Cultural Dimensions and Their Influence in the Workplace
  • How to Effectively Communicate Across Cultures
  • Interactional Rules: Verbal and Nonverbal Practices
  • Multicultural Teams: Creating Cultural Synergy
  • Understanding Cross-Cultural Conflict Styles

Learning Outcome

As a result of participating in this workshop, you will be able to:

  • Identify cross-cultural differences that impact employees in your work environment.
  • Analyze your personal behavior and adapt it accordingly when working across cultures.
