Steve Rizley is senior vice president and general manager of Cox Communications Arizona - the largest provider of cable television, broadband and telephone residential, educational and business services. A 30-year cable television veteran, Rizley joined Cox Communications in 1995 as general manager for Cox Media, the media sales organization for Cox in Phoenix.

Prior to coming to Cox Communications, Rizley worked for Times Mirror Company as regional director for Dimension Media Services and also held management positions with American Cable. Rizley worked for The New York Times before entering the cable field.

Rizley serves in several civic, church and educational leadership capacities. He is a member of the American Red Cross-Grand Canyon Chapter, Banner Heath Foundation and is a past-chair of the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. In addition, Rizley is the recipient of the 2005 Vanguard Award and was chosen in the category of Cable Operations Management by the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA).

Rizley has also served nationally on affiliate advisory boards and committees for the A.C. Nielsen Company and MTV Networks. In 1997, Rizley was awarded the Cable Television Advertising Bureau’s President’s Award for industry leadership, and in 2002 he was inducted into the Arizona Cable Television Hall of Fame. In 2008 received the distinguished alumni awards from Brigham Young University (BYU) and currently serves as stake president of the Scottsdale Arizona North Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon).

A graduate of Brigham Young University, Rizley received a Bachelor’s Degree in communications and was recently honored with their distinguished alumni award. In addition, he received his MBA in International Management from The Thunderbird School of Global Management.

He is married to Marilyn Berg Rizley and they have four children and seven grandchildren.
