Workshop Summary

Marissa Mayer caused uproar when she mandated employees couldn’t work from home. However, many people know that working remotely means working around the clock, and therefore a higher productivity. The research shows also employees feel more engaged when they can get things done at home simultaneously to their professional workload. True, face-to-face communication and collaboration may be sacrificed, but what’s the impact on work-life balance?

Today, technology keeps us plugged into work, globally, 24-7. While this can be exciting, fun and flexible, one also needs to be aware of their limitations. This workshop, Nurturing Life Balance While Working Remotely, Virtually & Globally, will share new research on what motivates individuals in the workforce, warning signs for burn-out, tools to check one’s work-life balance levels, how to set boundaries, and develop best practices for remote, virtual and global teamwork.

Workshop Objectives

  • Quote the latest statistics in the field of life balance and make a business case
  • Understand models and use new tools to assess work-life balance
  • Develop strategies to manage their own life balance, and that of their team
  • Implement best practices when working remotely, virtually and globally
