Lee Barnett

IT Director, American Express

Lee Barnett was born in England and moved to the US in the fall of 2003. He has worked for American Express for the past 29 years, with the first 25 in England, traveling across much of Europe and the Middle East. He has been in Technologies for most of his career. Lee has always had a keen interest in equality and inclusion for all. His career at American Express has enabled him to follow that dream. Lee has successfully led training on Putting People First; Organizational Development for Leaders; Personal Accountability; Emotional Intelligence – Being an Inspiration. Lee is also a qualified teacher in Emotional Intelligence and Diversity through the EIDI Institute, and the Path 4 Teens training through the Laurie Beth Jones Company.

This is Lee’s first role on a non-profit Board though he has been an active member on a number of organizations in England, including ACT – the Association for Children with Tracheotomies; St.James Place – a charity that offers special care for children with medical needs; Camelia Botnar – schooling for children with special medical needs; Evelina Trust – a special housing trust for parents of patients at Guy’s Hospital, London.

Lee moved to the US with his wife, Karen, son Joshua and 3 daughters Lucy, Lily-Rose and Katie. All are now permanent residents in the USA.
